About the College

Historical Background

The College of Social and Economic Studies was established in 2011 and is also considered a continuation of the College of Social and Economic Studies of the University of Juba, which was founded in 1975, and that of Bahar El Ghazal University, established in 1993. Until 1996, the former college at the University of Juba offered Bachelor of Arts programs in Economics, Social, and Management Studies. After 1996, Management Sciences became an independent body known as the School of Management Sciences and was later upgraded to a college.
