Project of Bahri Locality Afforestation of university & South Um AlQura Locality
Pursuing its strategic plan of community service, University of Bahri– represented in College of Agriculture, in collaboration with Bahri Locality have launched an afforestation campaign, with the participation of the local committees in south ‘Um Al Qura’.
Dr. Zainab Abdullah Yousof Abdullah, Dean of Agriculture College, mentioned that the community service is one of the university goals and the afforestation culture comes within the main interests of university the project aims to preserving forestry resources, providing healthy environment, protecting green spaces and introducing new fruitful species.
Dr. Zainab said that the campaign will start from university to Altadamun block in Um Al Qura, and plant trees in mosque, school and a house. She added that the project will not end at this point, but a follow up program will be designed in taking care of trees growth.
The representative of the local committee, commended the university’s efforts in community service he expressed local committees readiness to take care of this vital environmental project.
The representative of Bahri Locality praised university efforts and its initiatives in serving surrounding community, declaring their unlimited support to the project.[:ar]

تجسيدأ لإستراتيجية الجامعة الرامية لخدمة المجتمع دشنت جامعة بحرى ممثلة فى كلية الزراعة حملة تشجير معتمدية بحري بالتعاون مع معتمدية بحري ومشاركة اللجان الشعبية بأم القري جنوب.
دكتورة زينب عبدالله يوسف عميد كلية الزراعة ذكرت أن من أهداف الجامعة المشاركة فى خدمة المجتمع ، وثقافة التشجير من ضمن هموم الجامعة، ويهدف المشروع الحفاظ على الثروة الغابية،وتوفير مناخ بيئ وصحي، وتطوير البئية الخضراء، وإدخال أصناف مثمرة وجديدة تعين المواطن في حياتة اليومية.
وقالت دكتورة زينب أن الحملة ستنطلق بداية من داخل الجامعة وذلك بغرس بعض الشتول ثم تتحول الي حي التضامن بأم القري جنوب باعتبارة اقرب الاحيا مجاورةً للجامعة، وغرس نماذج من الشتول باحد المساجد، ومدرسة، واحد المنازل بالحي. وأضافت أن المشروع لن يتوقف عند غرس الشتول فقط بل سيتعداه الي الرعاية و المتابعة حيث صممت إستمارة للمواطنين لمعرفة سير التشجير.
من جانبة اثنى ممثل اللجان الشعبية بمحلية ام القرى جنوب علي جهود جامعة بحري في خدمتها للمجتمع، وأعلن استعداد اللجان الشعبية لرعاية ومتابعة المشوع الذي سيعود بالفائدة العظيمة علي مجتمع أم القرى خاصة والسودان عامة.
ممثل معتمدية بحري حيا جهود الجامعة ومبادرتها الكريمة لخدمة المنطقة المحيطة بها، وأعلن استعداد معتمدية بحري دعمها التام لهذا المشروع عينياً ومادياً حتي يرى النور في المستقبل القريب.
