Mineral Resources

a) Gold Mining:

The gold mining had been known in ancient civilizations of the Nile Valley. The area extended from Red Sea to Egypt was known as Arid El maadan (Gold). At present the belt extending from Gabait Elmaadan through to Northern Kordofan is active in traditional and modern mining. Southern Blue Nile and Eastern Southern Kordofan is booming with traditional mining.

b) Iron- Ores:

Iron- ores mining and exploitation had been known in Merowe Civilization and deposits of iron-ores can be seen near Kaboushia. Iron also had been reported in Gabal Abu Tulu in south Kordofan.تحت الإنشاء
