Students at college of applied and industrial sciences managed to adjust the functionality features of lab microscopes from reflective lenses adding visual and lighting characteristics,this idea was initiated by deputy college dean Dr. Majdi Al Shaikhdue to the lack of proper equipment and the shortage of well-equipped labs. The repairing process was done by the students of the 4th year at the section of electronics with the aid of technicians for a number of 100 microscopes.
The dean of college Dr. Tarig Othman Khadir said that maintenance costs of labs’ equipment can be lessen with students help, where they have previously equipped Geology lab that includes all scientific colleges in university i.e. colleges of natural resources, agriculture, animal production, petroleum geology, education, health and engineering.
He further pointed out that students need an integrated workshop which will help them in training, maintaining and updating lab equipment, paying tribute to deputy college dean Dr. Majdi Al Shaikh, technicians and students.
The central labs counselor Mr. AwadAbdAlgadir, senior chief of technicians-department of physics Mr. Sanhoury Mohammed Omer and electronics technician Mr. Taj Aldeen Al Khadir all affirmed that this achievement was carried out collectively, where a number of 120 microscopes have been maintained and updated out of a total of 140 damaged ones.
The 4th year students at electronics section said that this work has helped them a lot in gaining new practical experiences and dealing with microscopes manufacturing process.
