Pursuing its strategic plan of community service, University of Bahri- represented in College of Agriculture, in collaboration with Bahri Locality have launched an afforestation campaign, with the participation of the local committees in south ‘Um Al Qura’.
Dr. Zainab Abdullah Yousof Abdullah, Dean of Agriculture College, mentioned that the community service is one of the university goals, and the afforestation culture comes within the main interests of university, the project aims to preserving forestry resources, providing healthy environment, protecting green spaces and introducing new fruitful species.
Dr. Zainab said that the campaign will start from university to Altadamun block in Um Al Qura, and plant trees in mosque, school and a house. She added that the project will not end at this point, but a follow up program will be designed in taking care of trees growth.
The representative of the local committee, commended the university’s efforts in community service, he expressed local committees readiness to take care of this vital environmental project.
The representative of Bahri Locality praised university efforts and its initiatives in serving surrounding community, declaring their unlimited support to the project.
