College of Medicine – University of Bahri offers MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
degree. This is a six-year medical degree programme, adopting the modern integrated spiral curriculum
that blends basic medical sciences, pathological sciences and clinical experiences.
The plan for the undergraduate student aims to create a knowledgeable practitioner with particular the
community commitment to and health related problems in Sudan.
The education of medical students at College of Medicine – University of Bahri, includes a solid
foundation in the fundamentals of basic and clinical science.
The first three years are taught in an integrated approach, closely tying basic science concepts to
clinical medicine, professionalism and medical ethics. This is delivered using a variety of teaching
methods, including small-group tutorials, lectures and practical laboratory-based sessions.
The next three clinical years are marked by extensive hands-on experience in caring for patients.
We believe that, in order to produce the best physicians, patients must be the focus of a medical training.
Patient-related clinical skills are learned initially in clinical skills sessions, using models
and simulators, before being put into practice on clinical placements.
Centres for clinical simulation and patient safety in the College of Medicine – University of Bahri,
allow students to learn basic clinical skills and teamwork in a safe learning environment
throughout the curriculum. As they progress, students will spend more time with
patients in clinical settings exposure, this will increase along with the complexity of clinical cases and responsibilities for patients’ care.
Thus, graduates are exceptionally well prepared to pursue residency training.
