East Africa University Aims at More Cooperation with University of Bahri
Prof. Ayoub Adam Mohammed Khalil, University of Bahri’s Vice-Chancellor, met Dr. Adam Shikhdon Ali, Vice-Chancellor/East Africa University. Ayoub explained that the University of Bahri had been established during exceptional circumstances for it to satisfy its lecturers and staff, in addition to students of previous Sudanese universities. He also added that the university includes 20 faculties and 4 centres, stressing that the university has human resources of highly qualified lecturers that reach more than 900 in different specialisms. Moreover, he indicated that the university has broad relations with regional and international universities. On the other hand, Dr.Shikhdon expressed his thanks and appreciation for the university’s administration for the effort they provide towards the training of Somalian students.
In the same context, Shikhdon asked for providing scholarships for his university’s students in scientific fields, particularly the medical field as well as delegating instructors from University of Bahri to East Africa University to bridge the gap of staff shortage. He then confirmed the existence of a considerable number of Somalian students in the University of Bahri.
It is worth mentioning that the visiting delegation had a tour to the university’s headquarters in Alkadro in addition to the Faculty of Veterinary and the farm to look at the infrastructure and the potentials that University of Bahri enjoys.
